From simple exercises lead by breathing, participants get conscious of their body, relax their spinal column, and reinforce their deep muscles refining their articulations. Classes are for adults (8 persons max.)
The Boulogne Pilates Classic classes take place on mat with or without accessories, and on modern machines (reformer, wall unit and chair). The classes last one hour.

After a great carrier as a comtemporary dancer close to Philippe Decoufle and Bob Wilson among other choreographers, Veronique Defranoux entirely devoted herself in Pilates teaching for years now. The opening of her own Pilates Centre, in Boulogne Billancourt - Paris, is the consecration of a whole life dedicated to body motion. She is developing Pilates teaching with the care of precision and profoundness in the technique.

Pilates method, simply called Pilates, is a physical system exercises developed at the beginning of 20s by Joseph Pilates, German immigrant in USA. He wrotes 2 books for his method: "Return to life through contrology" and "your health : a corrective system of exercising that revolutionizes the entire field of physical education".
Joseph Pilates (82 opposite photo) called his method "Contrology", referring the way that this method helps from one’s mind control their whole body. This program is for reapropriation of self control tonifying muscles, re- equilibrant of the spinal column. This method cares about breathing and physical movement coordination giving more energy to weaked muscles while relaxing the tensed one. Fluidity, precision on movements, straighten spinal column are essential. |
